Hva Skjer Gjøvik is a proposal for a new solution to connect culture and business more closely with the public. The primary group of Hva Skjer Gjøvik are cultural users with the aim of staying informed about what is going on in Gjøvik. With the solution, they should be able to make use of the various offers.
Below you will find the figma links for mobile- and desktopprototypes. Feel free to scroll through them while looking at the project. They are made for showcasing the design, so they still do not have full functionality.
Build better communication between Gjøvik City and the studentmass. Create a Calender that lest students and others in Gjøvik see different activities and Events.
We researched and explored the various offers in Gjøvik and categorize them into a calender we design ourselves. In the solution which is an open communications platform, students and business owners can express their wishes, and also update each other on what to do in Gjøvik

Me and my group wanted an open communications platform where students and business owners could express their wishes, and also update each other with what to do in Gjøvik. The platform was set to be created for everyone who wants to participate in activities in Gjøvik, regardless of background, physical abilities or other footings, so everyone would be included. We based our research on strategies by Jesse James Garrets, so that our strategies, scope, structure and surface design could be defended.
As part of the team handling the interactional design, i prioritized user insight over early development, and gathered information about the users that we could implement in the personas. As this is a plattform for communication the purpose of the research was to find out who was communicating with who, and how to bring these groups together under one platform.
Through research we found our main usergroups, consumers and businessowners in Gjøvik. To put insight into perspective and make it easy to prioritize the user, we create personas to effeftivly work as our users through the prosess. As shown under we created several personas on different ends of our userscale, and created different scenarior to work out what we need to make these groups communicate.
As mentioned, we had a clear task at hand. This was to create a commnications platform and a calender for activities in Gjøvik., with our own goals and frames to work around. To create this we used an iterative strategy, where we created MVPs throughout the project. This allows us to visualize our prosess, and easily get feedback to iterate and improve on. The iterations shown under is created using Balsamiq and gives both the group and our counselors easy access to what we want to do and create.
The Hva skjer Gjøvik application is a multifunctional event schedule. Here, users can find fun activities and places to enjoy in their own time, and both sides of the platform, as users and business, can communicate with each other, for easy improvement and as a result, a more complete solution.
As shown, we created one final proposition for desktop users, and one for mobile. This was a neccesity that we discovered during our research, as students and other cultural users in Gjøvik often uses their phone to find activities to do, and often through apps and preknown pages. To make it easy for the user, all forms of activities to do in Gjøvik has been categorized and reordered in new and easy categories.
This prototype builds on an estetic design, where we chose familiar colors, as they are the same colors used on ByenVår Gjøvik combined with the minicipal colors.
The results of this is a platform where consumers can easily navigate and find acitivities that fits their needs. The videos shown below will go through the functionality of both interfaces, first the mobile and then the desktop. As this was related to architectural design, we delimited ourselves to this part of the interface, while making sure the design is user friendly and estetic.
As we also invite businessowners to interact with the solution we also included a desktop version. This allows them to create and administrate their own businesses, while also being able to recieve feedback from their users, so that they may improve.
The desktop version features a simpler design, with more features in administration, such a the option to edit and create events and activities. The desktop version is however accesible to the public, but the users will be devided between users and owners.
